Delegates and guests arrived from all over Australia over a 15 hour period, greeted by the hot tropical climate of Darwin.
The area has a tropical savanna climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. The dry season runs from April/May through to October, with very little rainfall falling between May and September. Temperatures in the high 30s were top of mind when planning all optional tours during the day.
Darwin was a superb location for hosting stunning outdoor events including a themed Rodeo at Darwin Showgrounds, tours to Litchfield National Park, Aboriginal walking tours, fishing events and eco cruises on Darwin Harbour. Guests were accommodated across three hotels and all transport logistics for the movement of the 500 guests needed to ensure that guests were on the right coach and heading to their selected tours.
Most participants undertook tour options throughout the Top End prior to the conference, including visits to the World Heritage Kakadu National Park, Katherine Gorge and the Red Centre delights of Alice Springs and Uluru.
